In the realm of UV Curing, the UV Lamp is very important, but the Reflector plays just as an important part in the curing process and outcome of the product. Some Ultraviolet Reflectors are silver aluminum and others have a purple or purple-blue tinted coating on them, referred to as Dichroic. Some may even call them Dichrylic. Other terms related to dichroic coating would be Hot mirror, Cold mirror, Anti-reflection, Infrared, UV blocker, UV pass, or IR blocker. Whether you have a Nordson/Baldwin System, Grafix, Eltosch System, or a Digital Flatbed UV Press like the AGFA or Durst Rho Models, the replacement Dichroic Reflector Shields are available usually in a week or two.

Durst Rho UV Lamps and Dichroic Reflectors

Whether you are printing posters, banners, coroplast, or yard signs, trade show materials or advertising flyers, the UV lamps for the Digital presses can be costly and hard to locate in the USA. The Flatbed UV Digital Industry is catching on quickly, and  Ultraviolet Technology has proven to be a very effective method of printing. Along with the Ultraviolet lamps, the corresponding Quartz Barrier Plates are also available. No matter what type of Printing you do, it is always better to change out the UV bulbs around 500-700 hours, due to the UV light degredation that occurs as the lamp gets used. Once a new lamp is in place, you should see much better printing and curing quality. Flatbed Printing is also one of the most helpful for the environment as well.
